Microblogging seems to be an ever evolving network of information. I myself am a little slow to the networking world. My wife and most of my friends use twitter and facebook for the quickness and convenience that these sort of microblogging tools offer. For some reason, I never gave microblogging much of a chance... After talking to my wife and a few friends I decided to give twitter a chance. I primarily use twitter for up-to-date news and sporting information.
The more I have thought about the uses of microblogging, the more I realized just how useful they could be. Not just for instant news feeds, but for networking with a wide group of people. As an educator I have seen the negative way in which social media sites have been taken advantage of. With that being said, if social media sites are used in a friendly, professional manner they can not only be useful but rather entertaining as well. One use that I have taken advantage of is the easy access to disseminate practice times and locations, what to bring, etc. to my various teams that I coach. As the world continues to evolve in terms of technology I continually see opportunities to take advantage of microblogging as an insightful and useful tool for myself and my athletic teams.
